Partial.ly's Shopify Integration

We recently had some major changes to our Shopify integration. Merchants can install Partial.ly in 1 of 2 ways, both of which require a Zapier account.

Option #1: Add Partial.ly directly to your Shopify checkout page via Manual Payment Method. Learn more here: Partial.ly + Shopify: Manual Payment Method

Option #2: Add Partial.ly directly to your product pages and/or cart page by adding a snippet of code to your Shopify theme (similar to our prior integration). Learn more here: Partial.ly + Shopify: Partial.ly Checkout Button

How it works
  1. Create a manual payment method in Shopify checkout.
  2. Zapier listens for new orders under that payment method.
  3. Zapier has Partial.ly create a payment plan and email it to the customer.
  1. Generate code for checkout button in Partial.ly.
  2. Embed code in your Shopify theme.
  3. Zapier listens for plan_opened webhook events to create Shopify order.

Supported features / advantages Full Shopify checkout is used:
you get all Shopify’s built-in rules for
shipping, taxes, discounts, inventory management, etc. 		More flexibility/customization in how the Partial.ly checkout button / UI
is shown (e.g., limit by product tag, price, etc).
Limitations / Trade-offs
  • Customer must open plan (via email/account) to complete purchase.
    Order isn’t “complete” until that happens.
  • Defaults to 1 offer, but advanced scripting
    options may be available for customizations.
  • Applies to all orders unless payment method is disabled via
    Shopify Plus feature or third-party app.
  • Not compatible with Shopify checkout.
  • Does not work with Shopify discounts or inventory management.
  • Can only apply shipping and taxes via Partial.ly settings.
