Plan and Payment Status

What do the following plan statuses mean?

Open: The plan is open and processing payments according to the plan's schedule.You can view the schedule under the Schedule tab of the plan.

Paid: The plan is paid in full.

Canceled: The plan has been canceled and will no longer process payments. Merchants can reopen a canceled plan by clicking the 'create new payment schedule' button at the top of the plan. You will also see the option to archive the plan.

Defaulted: The customer has missed too many payments and the plan will no longer process payments. You can read more about defaulted plans here: /plan-defaulted/

Pending:The plan has been emailed to the customer to reopen.

Pending_Payment_Confirmation: The customer is paying the downpayment via direct bank account withdrawal (aka ACH or Bacs_Debit). These payments can take 3 -7 business days to receive acknowledgment of their success or failure from the customer's bank. While the payment may have left the customer's bank account, Stripe has not received it yet. The payment will pend until Stripe receives the payment. Once the payment clears, the plan will be opened.

Refunded: The plan was refunded in full.

Archived: The plan has been removed from view. You will not see it when in the Payment Plans section of your account. If you need to find an archived plan, use the filter button to filter by status > archived.

Checkout: The customer has abandoned the purchase.

What do the following payment statuses mean?

Paid: The payment has successfully processed and been depostied into your Stripe account.

Failed: The payment has failed to process. Payments fail for a variety of reasons. The most common reason is the customer's bank blocked the payment, requiring the customer to contact their bank. To see the Stripe reason, please click the details link next to the payment.

Pending: The customer is paying via direct bank account withdrawal (aka ACH or Bacs_Debit). These payments can take 3 -7 business days to receive acknowledgment of their success or failure from the customer's bank. While the payment may have left the customer's bank account, Stripe has not received it yet. The payment will pend until Stripe receives the payment. Once the payment clears, the payment status will update.

Requires_Action: The customer's bank requires them to authenticate the payment before it can be processed.

Requires_Payment_Method: The customer has abandoned a manual attempt to process a payment.
