Connecting Squarespace
Connecting Squarespace
Partially integrates with Squarespace's Core, Plus, and Advanced plans, allowing you to offer flexible payment plans to customers from your cart page.
Step 1: Generate an API key in Squarespace
In your Squarespace dashboard, go to Settings > Developer Tools > Developer API Keys and click Generate API Key. Give the key any name you want, but be sure to select the Orders checkbox and the Read and Write option so Partially has permission to create orders in your shop.
This requires the Squarespace Core, Plus, or Advanced plan. Be sure to copy your API key, as you won't be able to access it again in Squarespace once you close the window.
Step 2: Connect Squarespace to Partially
Log in to your Partially merchant portal and go to Settings > Integrations. Scroll down to Squarespace in the Shopping Carts section and click the Connect button. On the connect Squarespace page, paste your API key and click Connect to Squarespace.
After entering your API key, you'll be forwarded to the Squarespace settings page, where you can configure whether Partially-created orders deduct from your Squarespace inventory or skip it.
Step 3: Generate a code snippet for your checkout button
If you haven't already, create an offer in Partially — this will be the payment plan terms offered to customers purchasing with Partially.
Click the integration tool link next to your offer. Change the dropdown labeled "I would like to use my offer" to "With a Partially button on my Squarespace cart." You can then customize the design options for your button. This generates code to copy and paste into Squarespace.
Step 4: Add the code snippet to Squarespace
Go to your Squarespace dashboard under Website > Pages > Website Tools > Code Injection. Paste the Partially button code generated in the integration tool into the text box labeled Footer, then click save.
A Partially checkout button will now be visible on your cart page. Any payment plans customers open from that button will automatically create an associated order in your Squarespace shop.
Things to know
The Squarespace API currently only supports physical products. If you sell service or downloadable products, orders will be created in Squarespace as custom products, meaning they may not be tracked as usual.
Partially checkout buttons have only been tested on a small number of official Squarespace templates. If you have any issues with the checkout button in your template, contact us and we can help.
