Sending a Plan Request to a Customer
Sending a Plan Request to a Customer
A plan request is how you invite a customer to review and accept a payment plan. The customer receives an email or SMS with a secure link — no account required on their end.
Sending a Plan Request via Email
After creating a payment plan:
- Go to Payment Plans and find the plan (status will be Pending).
- Click the plan to open it.
- Click Send Plan Request.
- Confirm the customer's email address and optionally add a personal note.
- Click Send.
The customer receives an email with a link to a secure page showing their payment schedule, terms, and a form to enter their payment method.
Sending via SMS
If you have the customer's mobile number:
- Open the plan and click Send Plan Request.
- Switch to the SMS tab.
- Enter or confirm the customer's phone number.
- Click Send SMS.
The customer receives a text with a short link to the same acceptance page.
Sharing a Plan Link Directly
You can also copy the plan link and share it yourself (via your own email, messaging app, or in person on a tablet):
- Open the plan.
- Click Copy Plan Link.
- Share the link however you prefer.
What the Customer Sees
The customer's plan acceptance page shows:
- Business name and logo
- Total amount and payment breakdown
- Down payment amount (if applicable) and due date
- Installment schedule with dates and amounts
- Payment method entry form (card or bank account)
- Agreement to the payment plan terms
Once they submit, the plan status changes to Open and Partially begins billing on schedule.
Resending a Request
If the customer hasn't accepted after a few days, you can resend:
- Open the plan (status: Pending).
- Click Resend Request.
You can also set up automated reminder emails in Settings → Email so customers are nudged automatically after a set number of days.
Tracking Acceptance
You can see whether a customer has viewed or accepted the request from the plan detail page. The timeline shows when the request was sent, when it was viewed, and when it was accepted.
